Story of a Refugee Family in Philadelphia (Los Angeles Times)

Rudra Kuikel and his family, refugees who fled from Bhutan in 1992, have made a new start in Philadelphia. With the help of a resettlement program, they were able to adjust to the lifestyle in the States and acquire jobs to make a living. Although life isn’t easy, Kuikel’s family, like many other Bhutanese refugees are working hard to establish a life here. Indra, Kukel’s son, hopes to make a better life for his family and hopes to attend college. Read more about their story here.
