Hashi Kaar is a Somalian refugee who arrived in Australia
with no knowledge of English or education at the age of seventeen. Through hard
work and dedication, he managed to learn English and technological skills and
find a job for himself. He earned a degree and eventually became an
entrepreneur and started his own businesses which now employ fifteen other
people. His advice to refugees in a similar position as he was in the beginning
is to get help from the government and make as many relationships with friends
and coworkers as possible which Kaar says helped surround him with a positive
attitude. He also says dedication is an integral part of becoming successful
and believes in hiring others who need a start just as he did. Read more about his story
