Korad Abdi Becomes Entrepreneur to Decide Her Own Fate (Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder)

Korad Abdi is a Somalian refugee who was forced to live in a camp for several years before arriving in America. She experienced many periods of starvation, some while pregnant, but she has come out stronger than ever. After struggling paycheck to paycheck for many years, Abdi decided it was time to determine her own fate, and she started her own business. She began selling Sadia’s Gourmet Sauce based off a family recipe. She faced many obstacles including raising capital with no interest, but her business now has three flavors, and Sadia hopes to expand her business even further. Read more about her story here.
