Community Gardens Created By Bhutanese and Burmese Refugees (Philly.com)

Image
On the property of Saint Episcopal Church in Northeast Philadelphia and in Nationalities Service Center's Growing Home Gardens in South Philadelphia, community gardens are budding where several Bhutanese and Burmese refugee families are growing over 60 different types of vegetables. The aim of these gardens is to allow these refugees to remain in touch with their culture. Many of these families had forefathers who used to farm back in their home countries. Read more about these projects here.
