South of downtown Tucson, Arizona is a
restaurant specializing in Ethiopian cuisine called Café Desta. This restaurant
is unique in that a group of refugees from Eritrea and Ethiopia collectively
own it. They mostly employ employees from these two countries and Café Desta
not only serves as a source of employment for new refugees, but it also serves
as a connection to help newcomers familiarize themselves and adjust to the new
community.
